Determining the amount of damages was quite common even before martial law in the state. Today, in our daily life, one of the main tasks is the expert determination of the amount of damage and losses from the harm and destruction of objects as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

Experts of the Laboratory of Commodity Researches of NSC «Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius FSI» conduct such research. 

For the more effective provision of expert activity in this area, specialists of the Centre conduct forensic examinations in accordance with certain State Standards of Ukraine (DSTU ISO/IES 17020:2019) using the latest technologies. 

This type of research determines the amount of material damage caused to the owners of the relevant objects: these are vehicles, equipment (inventory), production lines, remnants of finished products and industrial raw materials, household appliances, furniture, clothing, and other property of affected citizens and legal entities. 

The conclusions based on the results of the research can be used in the compensation of damages both from the side of the state and the side of the aggressor – the Russian Federation, since the affected persons have the opportunity to apply to international judicial authorities, for example, to the European Court of Human Rights, the International Criminal Court, etc. 

The National Science Center continues to work and hold its front, because during this period a large number of relevant examinations have already been carried out, which definitely helps law enforcement agencies in fixing and establishing the damage caused by the enemy.
