One of the subdivisions of the NSC «Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius FSI» is a laboratory of engineering and transport and road technical examination. The list of studies is quite diverse:

  • research into the circumstances and mechanism of traffic accidents (establishing compliance of the actions of drivers and pedestrians with the requirements of the Road Traffic Rules of Ukraine);

  • examination of the technical condition of vehicles (serviceable, defective);

  • research of details of vehicles (mechanism of their destruction);

  • transport and track studies (establishment of the mechanism of a collision following tracks on vehicles and at the scene of the incident);

  • road engineering studies (estimation of the condition of roads and road conditions and their impact on traffic safety);

  • research of urban electric transport.

One of the specific areas of this laboratory’s work is the examination of the state of military equipment. These are types of armored vehicles, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, reconnaissance vehicles, their engines, etc. Expert studies of engineering equipment, passenger cars, etc. are also conducted.

It is worth noting that in order to more efficiently provide expert activity in this direction, the center’s specialists perform research using modern equipment and the latest computer programs, such as PC Crash. This program was created to analyze and model the mechanism of traffic accidents. Its main advantage is the ability to calculate the parameters of the movement of motor vehicles and other objects in dynamics, taking into account the actual parameters, as well as the environment and controlling influences. Simulation results obtained while working with the PC Crash program can be presented as text files containing raw and calculated data, as well as output in the form of diagrams and tables. 2D and 3D animations are used for appropriate visualization of the simulation: it helps to better reproduce the research objects and the circumstances of the event.

The National Science Center uses all possible advanced research methods and works in accordance with approved international standards. Even in the conditions of martial law in the state, the laboratory continues to work at full capacity.

Life goes on! Everyone keeps their front! Together to victory!
