On April 4, 2023, the National Scientific Center «Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius Forensic Science Institute» (hereafter referred to as NSC «Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius FSI») was visited by Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defence of Ukraine; Arvydas Anušauskas, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania; Valdemaras Sarapinas, Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine; Serhiy Melnyk, Chief of the Kharkiv Garrison, Brigadier General of Justice; Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration; Ihor Terekhov, Mayor of «Hero-city» Kharkiv and other distinguished guests. During the visit, the guests got acquainted with the work of the units, whose employees have been continuously performing their duties in the expert support of justice in the state since the first day of the war.

In his speech to the staff of the Center, Mr. Reznikov emphasized the significant contribution of the NSC «Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius FSI» to forensic expert activities to meet the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine during the war with the russian aggressor. In response, Oleksandr Kliuiev, Director of the Center, emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which is expressed in the participation of forensic experts in measures to record the crimes of the enemy on the territory of independent Ukraine, conducting expert investigations, and urged to do everything possible and impossible for the victory of Ukraine. 

The Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania Arvydas Anušauskas thanked for the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the units of the NSC «Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius FSI» and drew attention to the importance of cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania in the fight against the racist influx. The management and staff of the NSC «Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius FSI» are sincerely grateful to the entire Lithuanian people, represented by Mr. Anushauskas, for their support of Ukraine.

Another significant event, which took place during the visit of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine to the institution, was the assignment of the Cooperation Memorandum between the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and NSC «Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius FSI». Taking into account the consequences of the armed aggression of the russian federation against independent Ukraine and the hostilities taking place on the territory of Ukraine, the lack of expert service in the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, in the conditions of increasing need to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with military property, weapons, the latest equipment and the need to check their quality by the use of specific expertise, seeking to develop mutual cooperation, the parties agreed to cooperate in order to achieve the goal provided for in the Memorandum by combining their efforts with the application of their own experience and knowledge.

The assignment of the Memorandum will contribute to cooperation in the field of expert support of justice in the state, and strengthening of relations in difficult times of war, as well as providing the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine with the independent, qualified, and objective examination, focused on the maximum use of scientific and technical achievements.
